Editorial policy

Morocco Bars is a nightlife discovery directory and editorial guide for Morocco. Our goal is to help visitors and locals find real venues, understand what a night will feel like, and make informed choices.

What we cover

We list bars, rooftop terraces, cocktail rooms, lounges, nightclubs, hotel bars, live-music venues and restaurants where drinks and nightlife are a meaningful part of the experience. We currently cover Marrakech, Casablanca, Tangier, Agadir, Rabat and Essaouira.

How venues are selected

Venues enter the directory in two ways: (1) public business listings that match our nightlife categories, and (2) direct submissions from venue owners or managers. Every submission is reviewed before publication. We do not accept payment for inclusion in the directory itself.

How information is verified

We distinguish between levels of verification so readers can judge the confidence of each fact:

• Public listing checked — information has been matched against a public business listing such as Google Maps.
• Official website checked — information has been confirmed against the venue's own website or official social media account.
• Owner confirmed — details have been supplied or confirmed directly by the venue owner or manager.
• Editorially visited — a Morocco Bars editor has visited the venue in person. This is rare and never claimed without evidence.

Ratings and reviews

Star ratings and review counts shown on venue pages are third-party data, usually from Google Maps, and are labelled as such. They are not Morocco Bars ratings and we do not inflate, aggregate or present them as our own.

Guides and editorial content

City guides, shortlists and practical briefings are written by our editors based on research, public information and, where noted, first-hand visits. We do not accept payment for editorial coverage, and we do not invent visits or experiences.

Sponsored placements and partnerships

If a venue, guide or event is supported by a sponsor or partner, we clearly label it as such. Sponsored placements do not influence our editorial independence or directory inclusion criteria.

Corrections

We correct errors as soon as we become aware of them. See our corrections policy to report a mistake or request an update.
